Riverview Eyewear in Newcastle will be holding an Open House May 19-23, in their new, expanded location. The shop is still located at 71 Main Street, Newcastle in the Riverview Eyecare building, but has moved across the hall into a much larger location.

The relocation has allowed owner Valerie Seibel to expand her lines of prescription and non-prescription eyewear. Riverview Eyewear offers many models of eyewear including: Ray Ban, Anne Klein, Hugo Boss. For the first time this season, Lafont glasses made in France are also available. In addition to every day eyewear, Valerie has a wide selection of specialty lenses and frames for work and sport for the entire family.

"Being located right in the eye care building is very convenient for our patients." said Valerie.

Ms. Seibel is a certified optician, ophthalmic technician, and surgical assistant, and assists with ophthalmic surgeries weekly. Debbie James, also an optician, has been with Riverview Eyewear for 3 years.

"Riverview Eyecare, located upstairs is accepting new patients and conducts routine eye exams with Roy E. Seibel Jr. M.D. or John W.Lewis M.D.. The convenience of having the ophthalmologists in the building allows us to discuss patient's prescriptions with the doctors. Most repairs are performed right at the shop, and more complicated repairs can be sent out. If we don't have something you are looking for in stock, we are able to order various frames and lenses from other sources. Eyeglass frames can be ordered on patient approval to ensure that you get the style and color you want." said Valerie. "We really try to make it as easy and convenient as possible for our patients."

During the open house, Riverview Eyewear will offer specials on sunglasses, lens treatments and ophthalmic frames. Bring in your prescription or stop by to make an appointment for an eye exam, rain checks will be available for those not purchasing glasses during this week.

Hours are Monday-Thursday 10-4 and Friday 10-2. Riverview Eyewear is located at 71 Main Street in Newcastle across from the former Bud's Service Station.
